Mostly I hear from moms about how much their family portraits mean to them. But lately, I’ve had a few kind dads reach out to tell me how much they love the photos of their kids. Especially the images with them laughing and playing with their kids.
When a mom gifts her husband an heirloom picture of just him and the kids, I know it’s going to be a hit and prominently displayed in an office or bedside table. Dads love photos. I’m sure of it, so much that I asked my husband and dad to our two kids what the photos on the walls of his kids growing up mean to him.
“Seeing the pictures of my children at different times in our lives is a wonderful reminder of the life we have built together. No other thing in our home is more valuable, because we can never recreate those moments. During the hustle of daily life, finding time to pause and play with my kids is a constant goal. Having a photo session makes all of us slow down and focus on each other. The result is priceless.” – Mark (dad to Magnolia and Beckett)
So on this Father’s Day, here’s to all the dads who roll up their sleeves, dive in to a lively, whimsical photo session, and seal their place in their children’s memories. Here are just a few of my favorite moments.
