What to Expect From Your Newborn Session
As a New Orleans newborn photographer, I create relaxed, lifestyle newborn sessions in your own home, so your baby stays comfortable and your photos show the real start of your family's story. Sessions are best scheduled in your baby's first few weeks, ideally booked during pregnancy. I bring everything I need, guide you through simple, natural moments, and deliver your online gallery within two weeks.

Newborn portraits might seem impossible—you never know what a baby will do, right? But with a little trust, a lot of patience, and tender care, your newborn portraits will be filled with rosy cheeks, little tiny fingers, and gassy smiles that’ll make you fall in love with your baby again and again.

We’ll Schedule A Call
Once I receive your contact information we’ll plan to hop on the phone and discuss your upcoming newborn photo session. If this is your first time, don’t worry! I’m here to answer any questions or address concerns you might have about the process. We’ll talk packages, rates, location ideas, and all things baby to make sure you’re comfortable and confident moving forward.

I’ll Send You A Booking Agreement
If you’re ready to move forward I’ll send you an electronic booking agreement to sign. This contract, plus a Booking Fee that’s due when we schedule your newborn portrait session, will hold your place on my calendar.

Let’s Take Some Photos
I’ll arrive at our photo session location (most likely your home or someplace cozy and private) for a newborn session. We want your photos to be natural and candid, and I’ll walk you through the day every step of the way to make sure you and your baby have a great experience.
4.
Your Adorable Newborn Portraits Are Ready
I’ll send you your live newborn portrait gallery no later than 2 weeks after our photo session. I’m more than happy to suggest digital prints, albums, or wall art to display your photos. Keep in mind the prints, albums, and wall art will be sold separately from the booking fee for your session.

When is the best time to schedule newborn photos?
The first few weeks after birth are ideal, when babies are sleepy and still curled up. I recommend reaching out during your pregnancy so I can hold a spot around your due date, and we'll set the exact day once your baby arrives.
Where do newborn sessions take place?
Most of my newborn sessions happen in your home. It's comfortable for your baby, easy for you, and the photos show the nursery, the cozy bed, and the space where your family is growing.
What if my house isn't photo-ready?
It doesn't need to be. I only need one or two rooms with good window light, usually a bedroom or nursery. A tidy bed with light, neutral sheets goes a long way, and I'll help you pick the best spots when I arrive.
Can siblings and pets be in newborn photos?
Absolutely. Big brothers, big sisters, and even the family dog are part of the story. I start with the whole family while everyone is fresh, then focus on baby once siblings are ready for a break.
What should we wear for newborn photos?
Soft, simple clothes in light or neutral colors work best. Skip big logos and busy patterns so the focus stays on your baby.
When will I get my newborn photos?
Your online gallery arrives within two weeks of your session. From there, you choose your favorites and order digital images, prints, albums, or wall art.
