New Orleans
Mini Sessions
Thirty minutes at hand-picked New Orleans spots, from private historic courtyards to garden paths most families never get to walk through. I plan the details. You just show up.
Mini Sessions in a Nutshell
New Orleans mini sessions with Twirl Photography are 30-minute family photo sessions at curated locations around the city, including historic homes, courtyards, and gardens. I choose the spots, plan everything, and handle the details, so all you have to do is show up. Dates are limited and offered each spring and fall, plus holiday portraits in the studio, and your gallery arrives within two weeks. Your session fee covers your time, the location, and the photography. Your images are chosen afterward from a digital collection, starting at $675.

Spring Curated Locations VIPs first
Gardens, courtyards, and a few new surprises
A courtyard most people only see from the sidewalk.
Your kids are racing down a brick path, someone is swinging between you and your partner, and nobody is checking the time.
Half an hour later, you walk out with nothing left to plan. All that’s left is picking your favorites.
Short, sweet, and planned for you
Private locations
Historic homes, courtyards, and gardens usually closed to the public.
A kid-friendly pace
Thirty minutes, moving spot to spot, so little ones stay curious instead of cranky.
Guidance the whole way
No posing skills needed. One quick family photo, then I let your kids lead.
Quick galleries
Within two weeks, and just one week in November, right on time for holiday cards.

“Jennifer is so great to work with, especially with young kids. She is very patient and kind. I highly recommend a carousel session with Twirl if you have small children. You will not regret it!”

Is a mini session right for you?
It’s for you if…
- You want photos that look like New Orleans, not a parking lot
- You’d love for someone else to handle the planning
- Your little ones do best with short and sweet
- You want quick galleries in time for holiday cards
It’s probably not if…
- You want outfit changes or extra warm-up time. A Full Session fits better.
New Orleans Mini Session FAQ
What does the session fee cover?
Your time, the location, the permit, and the photography itself. It’s paid when you book and holds your spot.
Are digital images included?
Not in the session fee. After your session, you’ll see your full gallery and choose a digital collection, starting at $675 for curated minis and $350 for holiday minis.
How long is a mini session?
Thirty minutes. Short enough for little attention spans, long enough for a full gallery to choose from.
What if it rains?
We reschedule. I’ll be in touch if the forecast looks iffy.
What should we wear?
Coordinate instead of matching. Pick two or three colors that look good together, and I’m happy to look at outfit options before your date.
What if my toddler won’t cooperate?
Totally normal. We start with one quick family photo, then I let kids run, jump, and play.
What if we’re running late?
Please arrive right on time. Minis run back to back, so I’ll flex when I can, but the next family’s time comes first.
I’m Jennifer.
I’ve been photographing people for more than 25 years, starting as a newspaper photojournalist. Mini sessions are where I get to find real moments in the most beautiful corners of New Orleans. I’m a mom, too, so I know how fast these years go.
