Cousins. The original chaos crew.
Little dresses. Flower and stone bridges. Absolute zero interest in standing still. And a whole cheering section of aunts, uncles, and parents behind me losing their minds with joy every time someone did something cute — which was every thirty seconds.
This is what extended family sessions look like in real life. Not everyone perfectly posed. Everyone perfectly themselves.
City Park in the spring is perfect for big families. The light is soft, the flowers are everywhere, and somehow even the most camera-shy kid decides today is the day they perform.

Louie. 🎸
Every session starts the same way — figuring out what makes you, you. For Louie, that answer was easy. A guitar player, a punk-band member, a @morrisjeffschool senior and a Bywater soul. So we started at Webb’s Bywater Music store, because there was nowhere else to begin. From there we just followed the neighborhood — the murals, the color, the streets that feel like they were painted just for someone like him.
When the location fits the person, the pictures take care of themselves.

There are photos you come back to over and over again.
This is baby Marian, back before she could run the whole show. Those cheeks. And those big brothers who clearly already had her whole heart.
Longue Vue Gardens in the spring gives us so much room to roam, and this is exactly the kind of moment that happens when kids forget there`s a camera around.
She`s not a baby anymore. But this photo will always exist.

Senior portraits in the French Quarter are exactly as magical as you`d imagine.
The streets are quiet in the early morning. The light is soft and golden and doing everything right. And a few blocks of wandering — past iron balconies, painted shutters, and corners most people walk right by — can produce more variety than a location three times the size.
Phoebe came all the way to New Orleans for her senior portraits. And honestly? The city showed up for her.
We ducked into doorways, hidden staircases and found cafes to swap outfits. We found pockets of color around every turn. And she had the whole neighborhood practically to herself.
That`s the magic of the Quarter. History, texture, that unmistakable New Orleans energy — and when you time it right, none of the chaos.
When you travel for your senior portraits, you want photos that are worth the trip. I`d say we nailed it.
