Here’s to all the moms who leaned into the drama, ran with the mistakes and made the best of a not-great situation. I have seen tears, downpours and sibling rivalries put a wrench into perfect family photos many times.
It’s the moms who threw up their arms and said, “Oh, the heck with it,” that saved the day. While their children stared up at them in awe, they joined the chaos and had fun.
One of my favorite recent photo sessions was a family of six who arrived in beautiful outfits at Longue Vue Gardens. Just as we began, a cloudy sky turned torrential and soaked us all. Those kids will never forget the day their Mom (and Dad) jumped in puddles and embraced the rainstorm with laughter. The pictures we made are unlike anyone else’s and will forever be a heartwarming memory of their incredible family bond.
Here’s to you moms! You definitely know how to roll with the punches and make the best of a bad situation (2020 proved it).
