Looking back through all the photos I’ve taken in 2021, I am reminded why I have been a professional photographer for the past 25 years.

Photography is powerful.

A photo instantly takes you back to a moment, to all the messy and wonderful reasons you are a family. This year in particular, I have heard some incredible stories about what families have been going through. Parents have undertaken cancer treatments, grandparents have passed away, homes have been sold and jobs changed. All during a pandemic.

Witnessing the joy that families embrace despite this difficult year has been inspiring. Each photo a memory of the love they share.

All these memories are not a reflection of how perfect everyone’s life is, but instead a monument to how we thrive despite obstacles by holding on closely to the people who are most dear to us.

Below are just a few of my favorite moments that were celebrated with a photo session in 2021. I cannot thank you enough for choosing me to document your lives. Year after year. I am truly honored and humbled to watch so many of these little faces grow up.
