The French Quarter
It only takes a quick walk through the French Quarter to find some unique photo backdrops in this extraordinary neighborhood. Each home is a different color with bright shutters to compliment the facade and little stoops are perfect for a quick perch. Archways leading to private courtyards are often lined with manicured vines. And the occasional horse and buggy might meander by. This historic neighborhood is truly a special place for family photos!
Mornings can be magical in the French Quarter as most of the streets are recently washed and reflect the morning light. Tourists are usually still in bed and the streets are peaceful. This is a much more family-friendly time for pictures in the French Quarter, not too mention easier to park in the neighborhood.
The quieter more residential area closer to Cabrini Park is a great place to start for portraits, continuing on a couple of blocks to find the best stoop and shutters to match your families outfits. It’s also a great way to be photographed in the French Quarter without feeling like a tourist.
Many thanks to Eleanor and Abbey for exploring the French Quarter for family pictures!
