The stunning wedding of Allison and DJ started with vows under the shade of an old oak tree in the courtyard of the Maison Montegut, a historic home in the French Quarter. Then the newlyweds, wedding party and guests spilled onto the streets for a spirited second-line led by the New Birth Brass Band. As the bride and groom danced down Bourbon Street, no one could have guessed they were not native New Orleanians. The party continued with a reception back at the courtyard with beignets, cocktails, and an individual wedding cake on every table. The first dance to Johnny Cash’s version of In My Life left no dry eyes in the room. And New Birth kept everyone on their feet. The event was skillfully put together by the talented wedding planner Carolyn Arthurs at All About Events. The adoration between Allison and DJ was an inspiration to old romances and new ones alike. What a lovely couple. Allison has such grace, and DJ is full of charm. Here’s to a happy life!
