I’m a big believer in the “why” of photography. Why are you taking family pictures at this time in your life? Why are these portraits important to your family? The “Why” is the story of photography and for me personally a big reason why I do what I do. Over the next few weeks I will be sharing recent “Dreams for My Daughter” sessions taken over the last month. These sessions have been inspiring and speak to the importance of taking this moment to share a love letter to our daughters. As unique as each mother and daughter are, it is their connection of hope that speaks to all of us.

I dream that Juniper will always stay true to herself. I dream that she, like her mother and her mother’s father, will always have the courage to carve her own path without worry that her path may look very different than everyone else’s. I dream that my best girl, Juniper, will always be surrounded by love and happiness. I hope that Juniper will always know that she comes from a loving and supportive family, those living and those who have passed on, who will always love her for who she is. Be happy. Be loved. Dreams for My Daughter is a special portrait session commissioned by mothers for their daughters. Inspired by their personality, these sessions are designed especially for each girl and celebrates who they are at this moment, their connection to their mom and who they will become. Each framed heirloom of these young women is accompanied by a letter  from Mom expressing their “Dreams for My Daughter.” Thank you to each mom for sharing their letter.
