I’m looking back at 2017 and the little and big moments I was honored to capture. Thank you to my fabulous clients for letting me witness your grace. The little glances of love, sweet tender hugs, incredible patience and selfless acts of kindness you give to each other everyday were a joy to witness.

There are so many moments in 2017 that humble me as a photographer and as a mother. That moment when Kasia quietly leaned over and kissed her new bother’s forehead. When Dad blew powdered sugar all over Mom to the delight of their boys Julian, Henry and Teddy. Owen jumping off his dad’s shoulder for the perfect Superman launch. Alexandra racing a barge on the Mississippi while on her scooter. Three adorable baby Freda Kahlos. Bribing George with donuts. When Charles was brave enough to put his hand in the alligator’s mouth at the carousel. Playing tag with dad, hide-and-seek with mom, and dancing with brother. The list goes on.

These are the little moments that are quickly forgotten. I don’t take what I do lightly, I am a dedicated legacy keeper, memory archivist and childhood storyteller. In return, I get to talk all things parenting during a family or newborn session. I’ve leaned in to learn all types of tricks ranging from how to get your kids to bed, go-to snacks and the best way to navigate the tumultuous toddlerhood.  Most importantly, I’ve learned we are all just winging it, day to day, hoping for the best. Hoping our children remember they were truly and deeply loved.

And to brag just a little, Twirl Photography was named #1 Family Favorite photography studio in New Orleans by readers of NOLA Family Magazine for the third year in a row. This marks the 5th year I’ve been in the top three. Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote! I can’t wait to see what 2018 brings!
